ㄷ ending verbs (묻다 to ask, 듣다 to listen,)
The ㄷ is changed to ㄹ when the ㄷprecedes a vowel.
However, note that 듣다 to hear here in 내가 듣고 싶은 것 does not change., because ㄱ is a consonant.
some words which follow this rule are:

걷다 to walk
묻다 to ask
듣다 to hear
싣다 to load
깨닫다 to realize
긷다 to draw water
E.g. 내가 물으면 대답하세요. If I ask, please answer.

Another example: 길을 걸을 때는 when walking on the road, here the 걷다 to walk has followed the rule.

물으면 when you ask
들으면 when you listen
들어요 when you listen to
묻다 to ask : 그가 나에게 물어 봤다 , ㄷ->ㄹ.

There are exceptions to this rule as well

받다 to take
닫다 to close
얻다 to get
쏟다 to pour
믿다 to believe.

Examples of the exceptions:

너 언제나 복받아요 (you are lucky)
문을 닫아 주세요
나를 믿어 주세요.
묻다 to be covered with : 된장이 입에 묻었다 , the rule doesn't apply.
묻다 to bury : 김칫독을 땅에 묻었다 , the rule doesn't apply.
