Exercise 1

place the following into each special category : ㄹ verbs, ㅂ verbs, ㄷ verbs, and give the meaning of the word.

1. 알다
2. 얻다
3. 걷다
4. 무겁다
5. 들다 + 면서

answers
------------
1. to know (ㄹ)
2. to get, to obtain ( ㄷ exception, this one actually does not change its form )
3. to walk ( ㄷ verbs)
4. to be heavy (ㅂ verbs)
5. 들으면서 ... as you listen to it

2. a far-away foreign country (far away: 머나멀다 + 외국 )
3. a poor, pitiful fate (가엽다 + 운명)
4. to make a face filled with pity ( 안쓰럽다 + 표정 expression)
also use 짓다 for the verb.
5. you have committed a serious crime (use 죄를 짓다 + 은 + 것이다 )
6. a heart filled with pity (자비롭다 + 마음)
7. a cute titmouse (귀엽다 + 박새)

to me, this bird is obviously a chickadee. But, they're both in the same family...
8. to wash for somebody (use 씻다 (to wash) + 주다 to give)
9. Help me!! (돕다 , to help + 주세요 .... )
10. 쌓다 + 공덕 ( the morality you have accumulated)
