In this next example, why the *24yu did they use 맡기다, translation would've been the same
내가 보증하지 않았다면 그가 자네한테 무기 구입을 맡겼을 것 같은가?


2. 맡다

리더는 그가 맡았다.


맡다 (to entrust) in a passive role here.

It was entrusted to him. Or am I confused?
