causative .... ‘죽다’의 사동사 is 죽이다



REMEMBER: These causative verb forms 사동사 are regular verbs which take objects where the normal verb does not.


죽이다 (to kill) -- 다무선 인터넷이 아이를 죽였다 (wireless internet has killed a baby))
깨우다 (to wake up, arouse) -- 역사를 깨우다
입히다 -- 어머니가 아이에게 예쁜 옷을
입히셨어요. (the mother put beautiful clothes on the child)
넘기다 -- 한 달을 넘기고 있었지만 (in this case, it is not causative it just means to pass and there is no causative agent in it)
깎이다 -- to shave; 효당 스님에게 처음 머리를 깎였어. His head was first shaven by HyoTang monk.
적시다 -- to become wet (from 적다)
시키다 -- the causative of 하다
익히다 --- causative of 익다, -- to case, to make used to.
어느 정도 익혔다.
먹이다 -- to feed, give food to
남기다 -- to leave over, or let remain (the normal verb is 남다 )
울리다 -- to make cry
신발 신기다 -- to put on somebody's shoes
더위를 식히는 요령 -- knack/ways to beat/(literally, cool off the heat
붙이다 -- (붙다) to attach, fix, fasten. ... e.g. 불을 붙여 거기에 물 주전자를 올려놓으며.....
넓히다 (to make wide) --- 여행은 경험의 세계를 넓혀 준다.
지우다 (to make bear, put on somebody's back) --- 학부모에게 일부 책임을 지우는 것 --- to give the pareentss the sense of responsibility for teaching their kids right and wrong.
앉히다 -- seat/sit a person down , 나를 바라보더니 조용히 불러 앉혔다

Quoting: boss

죽이다 (to kill) -- 중개상이 날 죽여 없애 버리면 물품 대금을 안 주고 떼어먹을 수가 있지요. --- if they kill me, they's won't return the money we lent them, and they can possibly keep it.

높이다 (to raise) -- 목소리를 높여 그렇게 물었어 .




the other common form of the causative verbs is VST + 게 하다


가게 하다 -- to let leave
슬프게 하다 -- to make sad
두꺼운 옷을 자주 입게 되는 요즘 it makes us wear warm clothes
