Well, there are a few standard changes to the main verb when it comes to making the passive verbs.

A list of the passive voice verbs can be found at here.

Another list of the passive verbs is availabe from passive verbs list and the surrounding entries.

Basically, there are 4 ways to make a normal verb in the active voice into a passive verb are: add either 이 or 리 or 히 or 기 before the 다 part.

보다 보이다 (to be seen) -- 브라우저에선 이렇게 보입니다 ( it appears that way in your browser)
열다 열리다 (to be open) -- 문이 열리다 (the door is open/was opened)
잡다 잡히다 to be caught.
쫓다 쫓기다 to be chased

There are of course irregulars which will be the last ones in this topic.

The passive verbs are also intransitive, unlike English, which allows intransitive verbs. That has been moved to a separate topic

normal passive verb form formation with 이/히/리/기

These must simply be memorized. 히 examples are:

잡히다 to be caught.
뽑히다 to be extracted
* 문제를 바로 맞혔다. you guessed correctly

기 examples are:

쫓기다 to be chased
끊기다 to be stopped, cut off ....... 곤양 쪽으로 가는 버스편은 이미 끊겨 있었다.
안기다 to be caressed
끊다 (to cut off) and 끊기다 (to be cut off)

이 examples are:

섞이다 to be mixed up
싸이다 to be surrounded by --- 아침 안개에 싸인 절 a temple enshrouded by the fog.

and 리 examples are:

팔다 (sell) and 팔리다 (to be sold)
열다 (to open) and 열리다 (to be open)
듣다 (to hear) and 들리다 (to hear)
흔들다 (to shake) and 흔들리다 (to be shaken)

passive form with 지다

There is one other common from of the passive, which perhaps you have been using without realizing it as such, 어/아 + 지다. Note that this changes the verb stem before the 지다

커지다 -- to become bigger
넘어지다 to be left over
쓰러지다 -- to fall down, collapse from exhaustion
어두워지다 -- to become dark
커지다 -- to become bigger
높아지다 -- to become taller
늘어지다 -- become longer
떨어지다 -- to fall
벌어지다 -- to earn
엎어지다 -- 1)fall on one\‘s breast/nose, fall down 2) be spoilt, ruined
틀어지다 --1) deviate, swerve, go astray 2) be twisted, go awry
흩어지다 -- be scattered, dispersed

Quoting: dreamer

‘지다’ has many different meanings but in this case it is used as a verb helper, 보조 동사.

When you add this to an adjective, it adds the meaning of becoming or getting into a certain state , and it makes the adjective(state verb) a verb(action verb).

여름이 되니까 낮이 점점 길어진다.

Since summer is here, the day is getting longer and longer.

길다 long 길어지다

짧다 short 짧아지다

춥다 cold 추워지다

덥다 hot 더워지다

크다 big, tall 커지다

작다 small, shore 작아지다

College Korean (University of California Press) says:

Most transitive action verbs become intransitive passive verbs when [adding] one of the four suffixes -이, -리, -기, -히 ...

a. Use -이 when the verb stem ends in a vowel (e.g. 보다) or ㄲ, ㅌ, ㅍ, ㅎ

b. Use -기 when the verb stem ends in ㄴ, ㅁ, ㅅ

c. Use -리 when the verb stem ends in ㄷ, ㄹ, ㄹㅎ (e.g. 뜷다)
- I think the ㄷ case here is if the ㄷ changes to ㄹ normally, e.g. 듣다 -> 들리다

d. Use -히 when the verb stem ends in ㄱ, ㄷ, ㅂ, ㅈ, ㄹㅂ
- I think the ㄷ case here is if the ㄷ doesn't change to ㄹ normally, e.g. 닫다 -> 닫히다

But it also says:

In many cases, different verbs are used to express passive meaning, and in some cases it is not possible to express sentences in passive at all.
