Well, there are a few standard changes to the main verb when it comes to making the passive verbs.
A list of the passive voice verbs can be found at here.
Another list of the passive verbs is availabe from passive verbs list and the surrounding entries.
Basically, there are 4 ways to make a normal verb in the active voice into a passive verb are: add either 이 or 리 or 히 or 기 before the 다 part.
보다 보이다 (to be seen) -- 브라우저에선 이렇게 보입니다 ( it appears that way in your browser)
열다 열리다 (to be open) -- 문이 열리다 (the door is open/was opened)
잡다 잡히다 to be caught.
쫓다 쫓기다 to be chased
There are of course irregulars which will be the last ones in this topic.
The passive verbs are also intransitive, unlike English, which allows intransitive verbs. That has been moved to a separate topic

These must simply be memorized. 히 examples are:
잡히다 to be caught.
뽑히다 to be extracted

and 리 examples are:

듣다 (to hear) and 들리다 (to hear)
흔들다 (to shake) and 흔들리다 (to be shaken)
passive form with 지다
There is one other common from of the passive, which perhaps you have been using without realizing it as such, 어/아 + 지다. Note that this changes the verb stem before the 지다

‘지다’ has many different meanings but in this case it is used as a verb helper, 보조 동사.
When you add this to an adjective, it adds the meaning of becoming or getting into a certain state , and it makes the adjective(state verb) a verb(action verb).
여름이 되니까 낮이 점점 길어진다.
Since summer is here, the day is getting longer and longer.
길다 long 길어지다
짧다 short 짧아지다
춥다 cold 추워지다
덥다 hot 더워지다
크다 big, tall 커지다
작다 small, shore 작아지다
