Honorific forms: special vocabulary

For somebody respected, they have special words which you can use instead of the normal verbs. The replacement verb is on the right here:

originalhonorific word for it
이/가 께서
께서는
-에게-께

Those 3 are a bitch. I"m always messing them up.

You use these when the subject of the sentence is the school principal, your grandfather, the President, etc.

Anyway, every time you see one of these, know that you have to add +시+다 to the verb. You"ll notice this in the examples which follow.

Here are some examples of 께서 (는)

선생님께서 말씀습니다.
선생님께서 웃으셨습니다.
아주머니께서 걸어오고 계셨습니다.
선생님께서 옛날 이야기를 습니다.
관리자님께서는 이유없는 삭제를 하지마시길 당부드립니다^^
글쓴분께서 언급하신 부분은 The citing made by the person
부처님께서 출가하신 목적은 영원히 생사의 윤회고(輪廻苦)를 벗어나기 위해서였다.
Buddha meditated to escape from the cycle of reincarnation

Here is 께 (에)

학생이 선생님께 말했습니다. to the teacher
각하께 말씀을 드리겠지만 ..... I came to say something to the president

Then there are the easy words that hard to remember when to use, really.
