수석을 탐석했으면 때를 벗기고 수반에 올리든지 좌대조각을 하여 돋보이도록 연출하고서 감상한다. 기품 있게 화대에 올려서 진열하고 이에 곁들여 분재 등을 배열하면 더욱 운치가 있다.

산수석은 수반연출이 좋고, 물형석·무늬석 등은 좌대조각 받침이 무난하다. 탐석은 자연미의 발견이므로, 감상을 위한 것은 미의 구성으로서 어떻게 하면 보다 더 아름다운 수석으로 돋보이느냐 하는 깊은 심미안과 창의력이 필요하다
