We hope you add words from this list to your study list and take the quizzes, and especially register to get the words sent daily to your email (you specify how many) to make sure you know the most common words in the korean foreign language!

We discovered the next list from visiting Mr. sewing's korean blog. To read about it in Korean see www.korean.go.kr.
We went through and translated all 5000 or so words into English using conventional dictionaries; koreans are checking those and writing examples for each word. In the near future, We will add mp3 files for the words and samples, depending on the koreans' speed

The rankings are a little strange. They ranked the words by difficulty first, then sub-ranked the words from there. So, in the "easy" list, we have the most commonly used easy words. In the "intermediate" list, we have the most commonly used intermediate words. And same for the advanced list. I don't really understand that way of dividing it up; an alternative would be to simply take the 1/3 most popular words and call those "easy" and the least common of the 5000 words as "advanced". They didn't do that, however, because if you rank the words by how common they are, some advanced words are more common than easier words. (?)
